Track Creation
A small, discreet track is created by braiding a section of your natural hair flat against the scalp — completely invisible when your hair is down.

The Flat Volume Weft is carefully positioned along the track — lying flush against the head for a completely flat, undetectable finish.

Hand Sewn
The weft is sewn onto the track by hand using fine thread. No heat, no glue, no adhesive — just precision and care. Each row takes approximately 25 minutes.

Brush daily from the ends up
Use a soft boar bristle or extension-safe brush. Always start from the ends and work upward — never drag from root to tip.

Use extension-safe products
Avoid products high in protein, sulphate or alcohol — these can dry out the extension hair and shorten its lifespan. Mel will recommend suitable products at your appointment.

Sleep in a loose plait
Tie your hair in a loose braid before bed to prevent tangling and matting overnight. A silk pillowcase will also help reduce friction.

Condition mid-lengths to ends
Concentrate conditioner and masks from mid-lengths to ends. Apply oil to the ends daily to keep the extension hair nourished and soft.

Always use heat protection
Apply a heat protectant before any blow drying or heat styling. Extension hair does not benefit from the natural oils your scalp produces — so protection is even more important.

Avoid washing for 48 hours after install
Allow the tracks to fully settle before washing. When you do wash, concentrate shampoo on the scalp and conditioner on the mid-lengths and ends.

How long does a Flat Volume Weft installation take?
Each row takes approximately 25 minutes to install by hand. A typical set of two to three rows takes around 50 to 75 minutes. Your exact timing will be confirmed at your free consultation.
How long do Flat Volume Wefts last?
The weft hair itself can last 12 months or more with proper home care. Your natural hair will need a move-up appointment every six to eight weeks as it grows — at which point your wefts are repositioned back toward the scalp.
Do Flat Volume Wefts damage your natural hair?
No — when installed and maintained correctly, our sewn-in Flat Volume Wefts are completely damage free. Because we use no adhesives, no heat and no chemical bonding agents, your natural hair is never compromised throughout the wear or removal process.

Genius Wefts are ultra-thin and more flexible — ideal for very fine or fragile hair where maximum discretion is the priority. Mel will recommend the right option at your consultation.
Can I colour my Flat Volume Wefts?
We colour-match your extensions as closely as possible at sourcing and can tone them at installation to blend seamlessly. We do not recommend bleaching extension hair as this significantly shortens its lifespan.
